Judging Books By More Than Their Cover With Rowan
The book, "The Egyption Cinderella," is written by Shirley Climo. It is the original Cinderella story, except it takes place in Ancient Egypt. Instead of a maid, Rhodopis (the main character) is a household peasant. Rhodopis has rosy cheeks, blonde hair, and green hazel eyes like the color of the Nile River. One day, while dancing around outside, a hawk (Horus), takes her golden slipper. Horus takes the golden slipper to the pharaoh, and the pharaoh sets forth to find who lost the slipper and whose slipper it is. My favorite part of the story was when was when Horus.
