Abby's Reviews on Books
Shirley Climo writes an amazing book called the Egyptian Cinderella, illustrated by Ruth Heller. In this case the girl's name in the story is not Cinderella it is Rhodophis. However Rhodophis is not Egyptian she is Greek, which makes her stand out, a lot. This book is about Rhodophis being a slave in the land of Egypt. Rhodophis can't go to the pharaohs court he is having. Her master's daughters are going without her. Rhodophis gets a beautiful pair of slippers. When she was doing her chores a falcon swipes one of her slippers and took it away. The shoe somehow got to the pharaoh and he said "Whoever owns this slipper shall be my queen." My favorite part is when the hawk takes one of her slippers and brings it to the pharaoh. I would recommend this book who want's to read a quick interesting story and someone who likes fairy tales. -Abby
