Sammy's Blog
There once was a young slave girl named Rhodopis who owned a pair of red slippers. This book is written by Shirley Climo. When Rhodopis was younger she was stolen from Greece by pirates and sold as a slave in Egypt. Rhodopis would always dance,so, her master got her a pair of red slippers for her feet. But when the other slaves announced they're going to see the Pharaoh and Rhodopis cant come, she was upset. Then a Hawk comes and steals the red slippers and brings it to the Pharaoh. He says "whoever owns this slipper will be my queen". My favorite part is when the pharaoh goes from kingdom to kingdom to search for his queen. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick easy read and would want to see the real version of "Cinderella". This book also makes many connection towards Egyptian gods. -Sammy
